Christmas Morning - [The Mama]

Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus!

Harris is totally excited about today being Jesus' Birthday!!!  We made a cake last night and later on tonight will be going to a friend's home for the Birthday Party.  He said he is going to sing a song for Jesus' present.  He has been practicing "Jesus Loves Me."  It ought to be good as long as Harris doesn't turn shy all of the sudden.

There is an answer to the question of "What will I get for Christmas" in our household today....

Bagpipe boy

Harris was blessed by the presents he received from those near and far....

St Andrews Flag

Ecstatic is definitely a word to describe Harris this morning.  He received a game he really wanted from Papa, Scottish Bagpipes from Mama, a St. Andrews Flag from Grandparents in Wisconsin, and a Recorder from Grandparents in Michigan.  He can actually play the Recorder with ease and with a little help from Mama has been able to play the chanter on his bagpipes!  He was so happy in the middle of opening presents he had to run to the pinano (his pronunciation) and play it for about 5 minutes.  Music has filled our home this morning.  From the gifts for Harris to 'Celtic Women' CD and 'MPK Christmas' CD we have been bathed in music.

Surprised!!!! - [The Mama]

'Surprised' is the common word...
'Miracle of God' is our word!

Today we had a family outing that ended with Harris and I having to go to the store to get some fruit for The Papa.  I was not aware that God in His mercy was setting us up for a blessing in regards to Harris.....

We walked around naming fruits and when we came to the Pears Harris grabbed one and wanted to bite it.  I remained calm and told him that we would take it home and wash it first.  I peeled the skin off of part of the pear and well here is what he did...

 Pear Eating Boy! Praise Jesus!

Trying to bite into a pear with no front teeth!

Then we switched to using the spoon and he ate about 8 bites of fresh pear!  Even tried chewing (after he swallowed).

Just a bit of concern on his face.

We are so excited that, as Papa put it, Harris is listening to the angel who has been whispering in his ear to eat food.  This has been a blessed weekend in so many ways and this event is the "Cream on Top!"

Tis Chistmas Season once again! - [The Mama]

Harris and Papa have been working hard to make a beautiful Christmas Tree and Train set up for our home.  The train is a 1956 O scale Model Train that Papa's Grandpa bought for Papa's daddy when he was a kid.  Then it was given to Papa and now it is Harris' turn to own this 50 year old set.
Harris and Papa and the Train

Harris has been laughing and so excited about this Christmas and setting up and playing with this family heirloom has just been the best!  Watch the video below - you will definitely end up with a smile on your face!

This Christmas Harris has been so excited!  Harris and Mama went to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving and got to see Santa at the mall there and when Santa asked what he wanted for Christmas our little 'Scot' threw his head back and yelled, "SCOTTISH BAGPIPES!"  Santa said he'd never heard that one.   Funny Kid!
